Meet the National Park Administration
The National Park Administration is a direct subordinate department of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection. It is responsible for the management of the 210 km² National Park area and has its headquarters in Berchtesgaden. At present it has 70 full-time employees and 10 seasonal workers, as well as a place for a person doing community or alternative service and three positions within the framework of the Freiwilliges Ökologisches Jahr (Volunteer Environmental Year). In the summer, in addition, it offers approximately 15 internships and in winter, depending on need, one to two internships to support the National Park’s work.
