Unless specified otherwise, all the pages on this information server are protected by copyright. This applies in particular to texts, photos, graphics, sound, video or animation data in all formats, as well as their arrangement on the Web pages.
The duplication or use of the said pages (even in part) in other electronic or printed material and their publication (even on the Internet) is permitted only after prior authorization from the editorial office. As the pages undergo continuous updates – which cannot be done to the duplicated versions – authorization cannot be given out on a regular basis.
A link to the pages of this information server is encouraged and permitted at any time even without prior authorization.
Printing out and evaluation of press releases and speeches is also authorized without prior consent, provided the sources are listed.
It should be known that photos, graphics, text or other data can be copyrighted in their totality or in part by third party rights.
All the registered (and third-party) trade marks and brand names that appear in this Internet site are totally subject to the conditions of the currently valid trademark legislation and the ownerships rights of the individual registered owners. The mere mention of trademarks on our Internet site cannot give rise to the assumption that these are not protected by third-party rights.
In order to permit people with disabilities to freely access the Internet, the German Federal Government endorsed the BITV act (obstacle-free information technique act) on July 24, 2002. It is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in May 1999.
Berchtesgaden National Park’s Internet pages have been created in compliance with the current standards set by BayBITV (Bavarian obstacle-free information technique act) that became effective on 01.01.2007.
The following web content accessibility features were taken into consideration or should be mentioned on the National Park’s web content:
The pages comply with the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) technique by which the content and the layout are systematically separate from one another.
External links are identifiable in alternative texts, as such, and are opened in the same window.
Photos and graphics with information content are accompanied by text equivalents and are generally offered as an alternative text. For longer texts, the alternative text will refer to the corresponding text in the page’s content.
The Website disposes of a picture-less design alternative that is identical in content and suitable for smaller screens or displays. Each page possesses this design alternative and is labeled by the adjoining symbol.
The visually impaired may magnify and shrink the view of each page. This function is marked by the adjoining symbol.
Provided the required efforts are justifiable, all PDF-files added to the Web since Nov. 1st, 2007, have good accessibility and are recognizable by the adjoining symbol.
Unfortunately, due to a shortage of staff at the National Park administration, older PDF-format publications cannot be revised and, as a consequence, may not be easily accessible. The need to keep these files in the web content is the result of continuous requests.
When creating new PDF-documents we work in accordance with the directives of the State Ministry for Environment, Health and Consumer Protection. These state the guidelines for the conversion of original data created in Word, InDesign, Excel or PowerPoint. The directives are also made available to external companies to enable a simpler creation of easily accessible PDF-documents.
Berchtesgaden National Park’s Internet website is optimized for a 1024 x 768 resolution. It can also be viewed in resolutions of 800 x 600 and 640 x 480 without limiting the full extent of its functions. This is possible only if you have activated JavaScript on your computer. If JavaScript is deactivated, the pages will automatically be shown in the 1024 x 768 standard resolution.
Our web content undergoes continuous improvements so as to improve and facilitate Internet access for people with disabilities. Should you have comments or suggestions for improvement, please mail them to:

In the event that Berchtesgaden National Park detects (or is made aware of) a situation arising from Internet pages to which it has enabled a link that may bring about civil law or criminal law implications, it will – to the best of its technical and practical abilities – promptly remove the link to the said site.
