Arriving by car:
Arrival by car will be either from the A8 Munich-Salzburg Autobahn or the A10 Salzburg-Villach Autobahn in Austria.
If you are coming from München (Munich) on the A8, take the Bad Reichenhall exit. Continue on the B20 towards Bad Reichenhall then follow the signs for Berchtesgaden.
If you are coming from Villach on the A10, take the Salzburg Süd exit onto the B305 and follow the signs to Berchtesgaden. If you are coming from Salzburg, take the B305 towards Grödig then follow the signs to Berchtesgaden.
Only the borders into the National Park are reachable by car. No cars are allowed inside the National Park with the exception of the National Park Service employees, Park researchers and mountain hut personnel who are issued special permits.
Paid parking is available at the main entrances into the National Park: Hinterbrand, Königssee, Hammerstiel, Wimbachbrucke and Klausbachtal.
