Arriving on foot:
A great variety of walking and long distance hiking trails are available for those coming on foot, such as the “Via Alpina” or the “Arno” trails. Numerous trails are available from Austria over the Steinerne Meer mountain range and into the Berchtesgaden National Park. Mountaineering experience, reliable equipment and specialized maps are essential for those taking these long and demanding routes. Maps are available at the Nationalpark-Haus or in certain shops.
